Welcome to AniPalmo.org! This site is the place to find out what, when and where
Ani Palmo is teaching, and how to join the courses. Come on in, have a look around and enjoy!

Ani Palmo was sent to Cleveland, her hometown, by her Teacher, Tulku Pema Wangyal Rinpoche,
with instruction to teach courses in Meditation and Buddhism.

Her aim is to provide instruction in Buddhist techniques, meditations, and philosophy in a way
that is applicable to both non-Buddhists and Buddhists alike. Course participants can take home practical tools for developing more compassion and wisdom without having to change their own spiritual practice and without having to adopt a spiritual practice if they have none.

At the same time, all courses and programs are applicable to those who are interested in doing Buddhist practice.

See below for the latest news and a summary of the new courses and talks.

VOLUNTEER FOR THE HOMELESS STAND DOWN!

Have you ever thought about what it means to be on the streets in a Cleveland winter?

The Homeless Stand Down is an interreligious event where InterAct Cleveland collaborates with a variety of congregations and agencies to provide a warm, safe
and affirming space where over 2,000 people facing the challenges of poverty and homelessness can experience respite, renewal and reconnection.

Guests enjoy shelter from the elements, health screenings, meals, entertainment, haircuts, Reiki, massage, and access to service providers. They receive personal
hygiene products, bus passes, and winter clothing.

But more than this, everyone who participates in this event--guests and volunteers alike--receives the chance to connect with one another. To step out of the notions
of "us and them" and move into the more universal notion of "all of us."

This is a wonderful opportunity to not only do a good deed, but to open our minds
as well as our hearts. It's also the perfect chance to put compassion into action.

The Stand Down takes place on Jan 31st, Feb 6th and Feb 16th, 2009. I will be volunteering on Jan 31st at Pilgrim Church in Tremont. PLEASE join me!

There's so much you can do! You can volunteer at the event itself, or before or after the event. You can greet and talk with guests, distribute clothing, serve meals, drive
a van and more. You can offer your professional services such as printing, security, health care, Reiki, massage or website development.

To find out more about the Homeless Stand Down and how you can volunteer, please visit InterAct Cleveland's website or call Toni at (216) 241-0230.
