Our New Home?
We are currently in negotiations to rent a house to use as our Center. It is owned by the
Olmsted Unitarian Universalist Congregation in North Olmsted.
Both Songtsen Gampo
and Olmsted UU feel this is a very good fit, and are optimistic about coming to an agreement
that is excellent for everyone. With your help, this can become a reality.
Features of the property:
- Very quiet place, yet near the highway (I-480), shopping, airport and hotels.
- Five bedrooms, three full baths (one on each floor). Ideal for housing visiting Lamas.
- Finished basement, perfect for children's programs and movie nights.

- Large living room for use as shrine room, seating for 25 people plus.
- Circular drive for parking for smaller events (i.e., classes).
- Use of church parking lot for larger events.
- Fully furnished.
- Could easily do retreat here with twenty people or more.
- The possibilities are endless...

Taklung Matrul Rinpoche coming June 30-July 5, 2009!
Taklung Matrul Rinpoche is highly educated, speaks English and is an excellent
and engaging teacher. Be sure to join us for this special event.
We very much need your financial support to make this visit possible.
At our last event, our budding Sangha ended up with a loss of over $3,000
(Not $1,000 as mistakenly reported in the last email.) Songtsen Gampo has no independent means of support other than the generous contributions of our local community. If we are to survive and to continue to be able to invite these great
masters, we absolutely need you to make offerings. Please participate to the best
of your ability.
Please consider the value of having these Lamas come to our own backyard
to share their wisdom and compassion with us. Without local events like this, we'd
have to travel over the country and around the world to hear these valuable teachings--costly and time consuming ventures. When our Teachers come here, we all share the benefit. Let's all share the expenses as well, okay?
Please also consider the very real expenses that come with hosting these events.
We need to cover the airfare for Rinpoche and his assistant to Cleveland. We also need
to cover their food and lodging. Add to that the cost of renting a venue, the offerings
we make to the Lama, and advertising costs and you start to get an idea of what is involved.
It's easy to offer your tax-deductible financial support by check or online.
